The Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates, Inc. (COPAA) held their annual conference at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel this past weekend (March 9th – 13th, 2016). COPAA’s mission is to protect and enforce the legal and civil rights of students with disabilities and their families, and their primary goal is to secure high quality educational services and to promote excellence in advocacy. Being that COPAA’s mission parallels that of McAndrews Law Offices’, they invited three of our members to come and speak, including Heidi Konkler-Goldsmith, Esq., Lauren O’Connell Mahler, Esq., and Caitlin McAndrews, Esq. The title of their presentation was From Stalemate to Mediate: Can’t we all Just Work it Out? with the focus on mediation. The conference was attended by advocates and lawyers from across the country and was both educational and a great success! For more information about COPAA, visit www.copaa.org.
