The MLO Minute: “October is Special Needs Law Month” —

October is special needs law month, and here at McAndrews Law Offices, we advocate for all legal rights of persons with disabilities. Our primary practice areas are special education and estate planning. In special education cases, we pride ourselves in our ability to understand the complex educational needs of the students we represent and engage with their families and school teams to realize their legal right to a free, appropriate public education and achieve positive life outcomes.

To estate planning cases, we bring significant knowledge and experience planning for clients with disabilities and their families. Whether counseling a young adult with a disability in naming agents through powers of attorney or designing special needs trusts to protect the public benefits of a clients’ child with special needs, we value our relationships with our clients in crafting appropriate, individual plans to meet each family’s needs. When it comes to other areas of the law that touch on the lives of people with disabilities, we maintain strong partnerships with other firms and community organizations so that we can appropriately meet our clients’ legal needs.
