The MLO Minute: “Our Technology Allows Us to Serve Every Corner of Pennsylvania and Delaware”
By Dennis McAndrews, Esq., Founder and Managing Partner Emeritus, Michael Connolly, Esq., CEO and Supervising Partner of Special Education, and Lesley Mehalick, J.D., LL.M., Supervising Partner of Estates and Trusts —
Before the world changed at the beginning of the current decade, most of our client meetings were conducted in person. But the adage of “Necessity is the mother of invention” proved to be true when in-person meetings were no longer permitted during the pandemic, and therefore this aspect of our practice changed by necessity. The technology we quickly developed and have used since then offers greater flexibility and enhanced service to our clients. As a result, most of our clients now choose for our initial client meetings to be conducted virtually, either through a video connection or phone conference. Of course, we are always willing to conduct in-person meetings, and do so whenever circumstances require, as our clients’ needs are always paramount.
In our special education work, most clients submit their records electronically to us via the cloud, which allows our staff and attorneys to expeditiously organize and review these records, which in turn allows our attorneys to “hit the ground running“ during our initial client meeting, as our attorneys have a solid background and critical information from our extensive intake procedure and a preliminary review of important records.
In the work of our Estates And Trust Department, while we do conduct initial client meetings more frequently in-person due to client preference (and less emergent time constraints), we are also frequently able to more conveniently and expeditiously address client needs through virtual meetings which can be scheduled more promptly with clients after a simple questionnaire has been provided by the family for an initial review by our assigned attorney.
These technologies and systems also allow us to efficiently and effectively serve every geographic area within Pennsylvania and Delaware in both our Special Education and Estates/Trusts Departments, as records can be obtained, and client meetings can be conducted, through electronic and virtual means. Quite simply, there’s no need to travel to obtain our services in most cases. Even client signings of estate planning documents can be conducted through various collaborations across the entirety of both Pennsylvania and Delaware.
We look forward to meeting the needs of you and your family wherever you reside in Pennsylvania or Delaware! Click here to contact us today!
