Our firm is thrilled to announce that our team member, Jillian Zacks, Esq., will be receiving The Shore-Whitehill Award for her incredible work on behalf of persons with disabilities! This prestigious award is given to a recipient each year by the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh and Jewish Residential Services. Jillian was nominated by Achieva and Jewish Family and Community Services of Pittsburgh for her continued dedication to working for and with individuals with disabilities.
When asked what this award means to Jillian, she stated: “I am so honored to receive the Shore-Whitehill Award which recognizes champions of inclusion. I want to thank JFCS and Arc of Greater Pittsburgh/Achieva for nominating me and Bob Whitehill, the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh and JRS for celebrating individuals who promote inclusion in the community. Advocacy to break down barriers and promoting change that allows for inclusion is important to me. I do it as a parent, as a friend, as a lawyer, and as a volunteer. I am fortunate to be affiliated with organizations, my law firm [McAndrews, Mehalick, Connolly, Hulse and Ryan P.C], and colleagues who epitomize the vision of promoting the empowerment of all individuals, not just in words but in actions.”
Jillian will be receiving the award at Achieva’s upcoming virtual panel and webinar titled “Transitioning into Adulthood” on Wednesday, February 16th, 2022 from 12:00pm – 1:00pm. Parents of children with disabilities are encouraged to register for this event. The virtual panel consists of Jillian Zacks, Esq. and four other professionals who will discuss their personal and professional experiences regarding the transition into adulthood.
