About: In this context, the definition of a special need student is somewhat broad. This includes students with physical, mental, and emotional challenges. It also might include students who need special services appropriate for refugees and non-English speakers. The objective is to educate teachers, school administrators, parents, and the general public regarding the problem, the mandates, and the responsibilities of those involved. The discussions will include the best ways to successfully provide necessary and appropriate services to the students, avoiding unnecessary conflict and litigation.
