“Five Reasons Why October is a Great Month for Estate Planning”

The process of creating or reviewing an estate plan is an activity that is easily set aside and delayed until “another day”. At the same time, a properly drafted estate plan will inevitably save your family and the beneficiaries of your estate significant costs, inconvenience, and even heartache. While there is always “no time like the present”, the month of October presents several unique advantages in moving forward with your estate planning process, which we can usually complete within a very reasonable time. Some of our most satisfying and effective estate planning work occurs in the fall, and most notably in October, when circumstances permit greater structure in our lives. We recently analyzed some of the reasons for this phenomenon, and list some of these reasons below.
